Juan has been a part of the Huella Andina team of guides since 2014. He began assisting Matías during the ascents of the Osorno volcano to develop his own path in the tourism industry and become certified as an ANGM Mountain Guide in 2019 and registered as such with Sernatur.
From studies related to agricultural life and geology, he dedicated several winter seasons to working in ski resorts in southern Chile, and the rest of the year to vertical work and mountain guiding. Today he divides his time between working on a dairy farm, volunteering with the Andean Rescue Corps in Puerto Varas and working in tourism.
