Description
Shrouded in clouds and local legends “el Osorno” is one of the icons of Southern Chile. Its ascent is a magical experience: one in which we will find ourselves immersed in nature to go beyond our own limits.
Displaced to the west of the Andes mountain range and outstanding from a privileged environment of farming fields, forests and lakes, it is the perfect viewpoint of the geography of southern Chile.
The ascent to the 2,656m summit begins before dawn and will take us on a demanding tour in volcanic scree, glaciated slopes and ice climbing.
From the top, we will not only take a deep breath, but we will also enjoy the panoramic views of the lakes region: the lake Todos Los Santos, the Petrohue River, lakes Llanquihue and Rupanco, the volcanoes Puntiagudo, Tronador, Calbuco, Casablanca, Puyehue and if there is good visibility, the Lanín and Llaima volcanoes in the distant region of the Araucanía.
